Our Values
At Kids' Therapy Works, everything we do is guided by five core values.
These aren't just words on a page - they're the principles our team lives by every day.
Families First
Your child and family are at the heart of every decision we make.
From the moment you contact us, we ask ourselves: "What's best for this family?" This means fitting therapy around your life, not the other way around. Whether that's appointments after school, weekend sessions, home visits across Essex, or working around your other commitments - we're here to make therapy work for you.
We know that every family is unique. Some children thrive in our clinic environment; others do better at home. Some families need intensive blocks; others prefer weekly sessions. We listen, we adapt, and we never assume one approach fits all.
This is what Families First looks like in practice:
Flexible appointment times including weekends
Home visits across Essex, East Anglia, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, and London
Therapy in schools when that's what works best
Scheduling that accommodates siblings, work, and family life, whenever possible
Communication on your terms - phone, email, messaging, or face-to-face
Accessible to All
Quality paediatric therapy shouldn't be a luxury available only to those that can afford it.
Although Kids' Therapy Works is privately owned, we operate with a not-for-profit ethos. This means any surplus we generate is reinvested:
Funding charitable causes - We donate to charities that provide equipment and fund therapy for children with additional needs
Improving our services - We invest in new equipment, training, and expanding our team
Each year, we publish a transparent Report & Accounts detailing our finances and the impact of the support we've provided. A level of transparency we believe is unique.
We also keep therapy accessible through:
Working with charities like Tree of Hope, Just4Children, and SNAP to help families access funding
Providing detailed quotes and guidance
Flexible payment options
Supporting EHCP assessments to help families access NHS funding
Locally Rooted, Deeply Trusted
We're not a global franchise. We're your local Essex therapy family.
Since 2010, Kids' Therapy Works has been part of the Essex community. We're local people who understand:
The schools your children attend
How the local NHS services work
The charities that support Essex families
The challenges of accessing therapy in East Anglia
What matters to families in our community
When you call us, you're speaking to someone who lives in Essex too. Our therapists know the local area, our clinic locations are easy to reach, and we've built relationships with local schools, health visitors, and support services over 15 years.
Being locally rooted means:
Three clinic locations across Essex (Copford, Stanway, and Brentwood)
Established partnerships with local charities and schools
Deep understanding of local NHS and EHCP systems
Long-term relationships with Essex families - some have been with us for over a decade
We're here for the long run
Excellence Through Collaboration
The best outcomes happen when therapists work together, not in isolation.
Many therapy providers operate in silos: you see a physiotherapist here, an occupational therapist there, a speech therapist somewhere else. Nobody talks to each other. Your child's care becomes fragmented.
We do things differently. Our Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech & Language Therapist work as one integrated team. They share offices, discuss cases together, and create coordinated treatment plans.
When your child needs multiple therapies, you get:
One team who all know your child and communicate regularly
Coordinated goals across all therapy areas
Consistent approaches that reinforce each other
Efficient care without duplication or contradiction
Holistic support that addresses the whole child, not just isolated skills
We want to expand our multi-disciplinary team to include Counselling and Music Therapy, because we know that emotional wellbeing and creative expression are just as important as physical and communication skills.
Excellence Through Collaboration means:
Regular team meetings to discuss children receiving multiple therapies
Joint treatment planning across disciplines
Therapists who understand each other's approaches
Families only having to explain their situation once
A truly holistic approach to child development
Always Evolving, Always Listening
We're never satisfied with "good enough" - and we want to hear your ideas.
The field of paediatric therapy is constantly advancing. New research emerges, innovative techniques develop, and families' needs change. We're committed to staying at the forefront.
In recent years, we've:
Enhanced our Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) service for children with cerebral palsy
Invested in specialist equipment for intensive therapy
Partnered with REACH Equine Therapy for hippotherapy
Expanded from one clinic to three locations
Added home visits across a wider geographic area
Begun planning our expansion to add clinics outside of Essex
But evolution isn't just about what we decide - it's about what you tell us. When families suggest improvements, we listen. When therapists identify training needs, we support them. When research shows a better approach, we adopt it.
Always Evolving, Always Listening means:
Continuous professional development for all therapists
Investing in new equipment and techniques
Acting on family feedback and suggestions
A willingness to try new approaches
Staying informed about the latest research and evidence
Transparency when things could be better
We genuinely want to hear from you. If you have feedback about our services, ideas for how we could do things better, or suggestions for new services, please get in touch. Some of our best improvements have come from family suggestions.
