Anne Cushen

Anne Cushen (of Cushen Nutrition Ltd) is a Registered Dietitian who graduated in 2003 from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC) with a BSC (Hons) degree in Nutrition and Dietetics with State Registration. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Dietetic Association.

Since qualifying in 2003, she has worked in a range of NHS Hospitals from large teaching hospitals to smaller more local hospitals and gained a wealth of experience. She set up “Cushen Nutrition” in 2005 so that she could spend longer with her patients and specialise in her particular areas of interest.

She has special interests in children with neurodisability, fussy/selective eating, allergies and intolerances. Anne has extensive experience of working with children who have cerebral palsy, developmental delay, brain injury and downs syndrome. She has completed Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) training which helps children with feeding difficulties to improve their eating skills.

Anne passionately believes that all children with disabilities and/or other medical conditions deserve the best nutrition and are able to reach their full potential for growth, learning and personal wellbeing. She believes in putting the family at the centre of the consultation and will work with you to get to the root of the problem and come up with personalised evidence-based solutions with your agreement. She can help you with the following conditions: vitamin/mineral insufficiencies; constipation; enteral feed intolerance/blended diets; faltering growth; allergies and intolerances amongst others.
